In John 3 Jesus clearly states why he came. Verse 16 is the good news that many of us learned at a young age--but its v17 that explains why this good news was necessary. Condemnation already existed for humanity since the world needed both Light from heaven and saving. Thanks be to God the Father for sending us his precious Son!

Part of the question is... what do you mean by mission? This is often a synonym for evangelism, and that is oddly enough reduced to something like the 4 spiritual laws. Not sure that's what mission is, though it is part of mission.

The church, in general, expects a missionary to do mission work on the mission field, but unfortunately it is not expected of a christian to do mission work on a secular job. (hopefully we don't think this way)

At least for today, just one more comment that I forgot to add.
My unspoken life - or perhaps unseen by us. What DO others see about my _____ life? We are His walking testimony, right?
Forgot - Why is it that the later I get the more I hear (and use) the word?

Comments for sure!
Club - there certainly is a positive side to it and it is "belonging"
Colours - don't think many (really) believe it was intentional except for one other Tim that we know (and love)!!
Another ... project - perhaps it may not be a building, but what else could it be?
How about bus ministry!
Mission - it appears to be a hot word for some companies. You got to have more than just a Purpose you got to have a "Mission".

The colours are refreshing but where is the Timmy's mug in the photo.
You are also right about the hearts of all the volunteers how they put their minds and spirits into this project.
I just hope there is not another.

It's just me...we just tried to open your blog and it didn't work; 2 seconds later it worked!
I really liked your first blog. It is very appropriate for what we have all just been through. As usual, very articulate and creative. Pennie J
